• First Instamatic camera

• $15.95 in 1963 ($114 in 2010 dollars)

Instamatics made a huge splash in the 1960s, solving the loading problem that had annoyed 35mm photographers since the first Leica. Kodak discontinued Instamatic (126) film at the end of 1999, and by 2008 no one was producing it. The chief problem with 126 film, never solved, was that there was no pressure plate, so the film was never held flat enough for perfect results.
