Konica's first commercially-sold 35mm camera. Konica didn't call it the "I"; that's a qualifier that was used informally once the II came out. This is the original 1948 version, without flash synchronization.

The name "Konica" comes from KONIshiroku CAmera.

All the leather from the bottom is gone on mine, except for the important part that says "Made in Occupied Japan", as shown below.
