RSSNew ImageIngesterPro Betas for Mac and Windows
These are betas 2.3.01B5 for Windows and 2.3.01B8 for the Mac.
Betas for both platforms have been updated to add GPS tagging to the Windows version and to enhance the Mac version. Both now have a set of controls for adjusting the time taken from images, in case the camera's clock is off. The adjustment does not affect GPS track points nor does it affect EXIF datetimes stored in the image files.
To use the new time adjustment, it's easiest to take a picture of an accurate clock. Then set the upper time-picking control, labeled "EXIF Time," to the EXIF time of the image, either by entering it manually or by using the "Set from Photo" button to read it directly from the image file, which may be on the card if ingestion hasn't yet occurred. Then set the lower time-picking control, labeled "Actual Time," to the actual clock, which you can see in the image itself, since it's a picture of a clock. The calculated adjustment will be used to offset the EXIF time read from each ingested image before looking it up in the tracking data to determine the GPS coordinates.
On Windows Vista, you'll have to run the ImageIngesterProBeta app as Administrator to get around a permission problem that I will solve shortly. This isn't necessary on Windows XP.
Neither platform requires you to install ExifTool, which was a requirement for earlier Mac betas.
The Windows Beta does not yet have the new Metadata design that the Mac beta has.
